TheKing of Fighters 2002: Unlimited MatchSTORY: Interms of plot, KOF 2002 Unlimited Match does not have a story and wasdeveloped as a 'dream match' with characters from all previousinstallments of King of Fighters.REVIEW:TheKing of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match is an enhanced version of The Kingof Fighters 2002 released February 26, 2009 for the PlayStation 2 in Japanand on November 3, 2010 for Xbox Live Arcade. The game features an all newsoundtrack (composed by Yasufumi Fukuda, Makoto Asai, Teruo Konishi &Two-Five), many new playable characters, gameplay tweaks, new desperation moves, new 2D/3D stages,Color Edit Mode, onlinematch support, and all new spliced character artwork during super attacks(making them more epic than ever before). A bit pixilated.
But agreat selection. Ohh, and there's 4 different Kyo's.:/A new character, simply called 'Nameless,' wasalso introduced to take the place of K9999 (since everyone knows he's a rip-off of Tetsuo Shima fromAkira and SNK doesn't want to get sued in the near future).Namelessfights very similarly to K9999 even though he has completely different animations. Most of returning character updates are subtle but hardcore players will notice some brand new hard-hitting desperation moves. The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match features 66 playable characters (the largest rosterof the series)! Of course, this also includes alternate versions of somecharacters, such as: The Kyo clones, 'Nightmare' Geese Howard, SVC/'98UMGeese Howard, KOF '99 Robert, and KOF '99 Sie Kensou. The console version of KOF 20002: Unlimited Match also includes a Neo Geoport ofthe original King of Fighters 2002 and a gallery of the originalcharacter artwork. The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match (Tougeki Ver.) is a Fighting video game published by SNK Playmore released on June 24, 2010 for the PlayStation 2. The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match es el remake de The King of Fighters 2002 hecho por SNK Playmore, el cual incluye nuevos equipos, una nueva interfaz, balances en el juego, nuevos Desesperation Moves y un Background con el Artwork del juego durante los “ocultos” (Hidden Super Desesperation Moves).
For hardcore KOF fans, it's a timeless game with tonsof replayability. But for casual players looking for a bit more graphical prowessor 'flash' out of their 2D fighters, Unlimited Match may disappoint.Despite looking very aged as a fighting game in 2009-2010, Unlimited Match givestraditional 2D fighting fans a throwback to an older time. And is the definitiveremake of the 'classic KOF formula' if there ever was one.Personally I didn't enjoy playing it much, but I do love the amazing characterartwork drawn by the legendary Hiroaki.
